Francois Pinault Foundation is to the Palazzo Grassi on the site of the former lantern sculpture of the boy with frog "on the headland between Grand Canal and Canale della Giudecca. See entry dated 9.9.2009.
So, no one has stepped up the work now in the lagoon and it was thanks to careful surveillance, no one a work of art from it. Following protests, the Venice Superintendent for Fine Arts, Renata Codello, has decided that the "Boy with the Frog" by Charles Ray, the sculpture Which replaced the 19th century street lamp at Punta della Dogana, will be removed in March 2011 at the end of the "Mapping the Studio" exhibit.
After the matter has been dealt so patiently and 'violence', it would be nice if that were a little happening in March, but I guess the replacement is done behind a fence ...
